Counseling

I was once asked what the favorite part of my job is. Without a moments hesitation, I new exactly. Watching a child's jaw drop!...huh?...yep, watching the reaction I get from talking to some child that thinks he/she has this unique medical problem that no one else understands and as a result, believes no one understands them.  I do, by golly!

When parents bring their child in with ADHD, I begin telling them all those little idiocyncracies that doesn't necessarily appear in the medical books. After completing a litany of these little weird traits and thoughts, the child looks at me in wonder and asks how I knew about him/her.  The jaw dropping occurrence happens when I tell them, "I wasn't describing you, I was describing me!"  The usual response is, "an old guy like you has what I have?"...YEP!

From time to time we all need someone to talk to who care share our own experiences and offer help.  We are very fortunate in "networking" with several such kind and understanding people listed below.

KERC endeavors to be of assistance to all that may need a shoulder to lean on.
